The Routeburn Track is one of New Zealand’s 9 Great Walks and is the ultimate alpine adventure. We start our journey leisurely hiking alongside the picturesque Route Burn river before heading up to Bridal Veil Waterfall and a swing bridge then leads us through to the Routeburn Flats. If you are feeling adventurous we can continue hiking up to the Routeburn Falls Hut through spectacular beech forest and take in views of the Humboldt Mountains.
This is the perfect half day hike where we get a head start by driving up to the Remarkables Ski Field car park. Lake Alta is a glacier lake tucked up in the mountain range and hidden under snow during most winters. We take in the spectacular views and grab some photos once we are on the ridge line before heading down to Lake Alta.
The Queen’s Drive hike at the top of Remarkables is a fun and very rewarding challenge for less experienced hikers, yet there’s plenty here for more experienced trekkers to sink their teeth into. The ever-changing textures underfoot lead to a feast of dramatic panoramas around each bend and nothing else compares in terms of alpine scenery.
Rob Roy Glacier is a stunning hike in Mt Aspiring National Park. From Raspberry Flats it is a short valley walk, crossing the West Matukituki River before a steady climb up through a small gorge alongside Rob Roy stream and journey through native Beech forest. We are soon rewarded with unobstructed views of the Rob Roy glacier hanging thousands of feet above us as you try to capture its grandeur and tranquillity. On our return we will stop in Wanaka by the lakefront.
Want to do walk somewhere different not included on the website? We can arrange custom hikes according to your time frame and budget. From a half day trip to a 2 week trip to the remote and stunning back country of New Zealand
